Naveen Dhaliwal Biography
Naveen Dhaliwal is a Canadian Emmy Award-winning Journalist working at CBS News serving as a General Assignment Reporter since she joined the station in April 2023. Formerly, Dhaliwal worked at WABC-TV as a general assignment reporter.
Education | Career
Dhaliwal studied at Rutgers University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs. She furthered her education at the University of Dakota, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Furthermore, she also pursued a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Dakota.
Naveen currently works as a General Assignment Reporter at CBS News since she joined the station in April of 2023. She worked as a reporter for WABC-TV before joining CBS New York. In the spring of 2022, Naveen was the first to report on the spate of attacks by South Asians. For her efforts during the Manhattan blackout in July 2019, Dhaliwal was awarded an Emmy.
Naveen worked as the morning show anchor for News 12 Westchester prior to joining WABC-TV. She worked long hours at the desk, covering the 2015 MTA train crash in Valhalla and the winter storm. Dhaliwal worked as a storm chaser, fill-in anchor, and reporter for three years at Oklahoma City’s KOCO-TV. Her years in Oklahoma, where she covered the terrible Moore and El Reno tornadoes of May 2013, reinforced her enthusiasm for breaking news and weather. She spent many hours getting to know the town and relaying stories of people going through a difficult period.
