David Molko Biography
David Molko is an American Emmy Award-Winning Anchor and Correspondent working as a Weekday 5, 6, and 11 pm News Anchor for KGW in Portland, Oregon. He joined KGW in January 2022 after working as a Reporter for CTV News in Vancouver, Canada.
Education | Career
Molko attended and graduated from Columbia University in New York with a degree in Economics and Political Science. After graduating in 2004 he joined MSNBC as a Researcher working for a year and left the station in 2005. He then joined WICZ Fox 40 as a General Assignment Reporter where he worked for less than a year.
In 2006 Molko joined Molko joined WCBS-TV as a Writer and Producer. He served WCBS for 2 years and left the station in 2008 joining CNN as a Senior Producer. He held the Senior Producer position for 5 years before his promotion to Senior Correspondent in September 2013. David left CNN in August 2016.
In October 2016, he joined CTV News as a freelance reporter and was promoted to Senior Reporter in July 2017. After 4 years and 7 months, David left CTV News in January 2022. While there he covered stories like the catastrophic 2021 British Columbia floods and an investigation into the operator of an unlicensed daycare where a 16-month-old boy died.
He now serves as a weekday 5 6, AND 11 PM news anchor for KGW-TV in Portland, Oregon. David has over 20 years of journalism experience and has won several awards and recognitions over the years including 5 Emmy awards and multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Besides being the weekday evening news anchor for KGW he also appears on the station’s specials like the 2022 Beijing Olympics and elections nights. Additionally, he has moderated several political debates like the three-way race for Oregon governor.
