Evan Watson Biography
Evan Watson is an American Award-Winning Reporter working as an Investigative Reporter for KGW in Portland, Oregon. He joined the station in March 2022 after serving as a News Reporter for 13News Now (WVEC) in Virginia.
Education | Career
Watson attended and graduated from Texas Christian University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Spanish, and Hispanic Studies. While at the University he served as a Frog Camp Director and interned at KCTV and American Heart Association.
In August 2014, he joined TCU60 as a Sports Director. He was promoted to Managing Editor in December 2014, Executive Editor in May 2015, and finally Multimedia Editor in January 2016. He left the station in May 2016 joining WGXA in Macon, Georgia Area as a Multimedia Journalist.
Before joining KWG-TV Evan served as a News Reporter for 13News Now. While there, he covered stories like the state’s unemployment crisis during COVID-19. He also covered the police shooting of Andrew Brown Jr and the politicization of Critical Race Theory.
Evan is now an Investigative Reporter for KGW in Portland, Oregon. He joined the station in March 2022 and has since covered significant stories that hit national and international headlines. Over the years of his professional career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions including an Associated Press award for Best Investigative Reporting in 2019.
In 2020, he was named runner-up for Best Reporter in Virginia by the AP. When free, Evan enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and hiking. He is excited to explore the Pacific Northwest and he can also be found playing golf and basketball. He also supports the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals and everything TCU Horned Frogs. Additionally, Evan is a huge Tottenham Hotspur fan.
