Adam Kuperstein is an American Anchor and Reporter working as a News Anchor and reporter for NBC 4 New York. Before his current role, Adam served as the station’s weekend general assignment reporter and weekend evening anchor for 3 years. He anchors the stations 11 am and 5 pm daily newscasts.

Education | Career

Kuperstein is a proud graduate of Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Finance. He has served several stations across the state before arriving in New York to join his current station. He served as a sports anchor for WUPW-TV in Toledo, Ohio, and WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio.

His last station before joining his current station was WTVJ, The NBC affiliate in South Florida. He served this station for more than a decade as a weekday news and sports anchor. While there, he covered three presidential elections and reported from the 2012 presidential debate at Lynn University. Additionally, he led the station’s sports coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Kuperstein now anchors NBC 4 New York’s 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily newscasts. He previously served as the station’s weekend evening anchor and weekday general assignment reporter for three years. His anchoring and reporting was a key component of NBC 4 New York’s award-winning COVID-19 coverage, honored in January 2021 with the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award.

During the 2019 deadly Jersey City shootout, he was the first local television reporter to report live from the scene. His field reporting was recognized by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), which awarded NBC 4 New York the 2020 National Edward R. Murrow Award. In January 2021 he reported from the U.S. Capitol riots that interrupted the certification of the 2020 Presidential election.

In October 2018, he reported the deadly anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Additionally, he reported the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018. He has also covered Hurricanes Irma and Dorian in Florida, and the deadly 2018 Trump Tower inferno in Manhattan.
