Education | Career
LaRosa attended and graduated from Penn State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology. Before graduating, she was a teaching assistant for the university’s introductory meteorology course. Besides this, LaRosa is a certified broadcast meteorologist from the AMS.
LaRosa currently works as a Weekday morning meteorologist for NBC 4 New York since joining the station in July 2019. She is more than honored to serve the Greater New York folk. LaRosa began her career in 1998 as a meteorologist for WTVM-TV. She left the station in 2000.
Maria’s next stop was WXIX in Cincinnati where she served as a meteorologist from 2000 to 2004. She later landed a job as a weekday morning and noon meteorologist for KYW-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Before joining her current station she worked as a meteorologist for The Weather Channel for about 9 years. During her tenure there, she co-hosted several popular shows, including America’s Morning Headquarters, Wake Up with AI, and Weekend Recharge.
