Borrelli studied at Villanova University from 2009 to 2010, where she participated in the Philadelphia Area Archdiocesan Scholars Program through her high school, which let her take four college classes during her senior year. She later enrolled at Syracuse University in 2010 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism in 2014. During that duration, Borrelli got lucky and acquired internships at NBC 40 News and WPXI-TV for a period of 4 months each.
Sophia is presently performing her duties at the WDBJ7 News station, where she has served as an anchor and reporter since she became part of the network in September 2021. She is thrilled to be back in the Roanoke Valley and share your tales with the locals! Sophia worked as a multimedia journalist and anchor for Heartland Media, LLC, in Huntsville, Alabama, most recently.
She lived in Roanoke for four years, so you might recognize her before then. Borrelli reported on a wide range of topics in the Roanoke Valley, including presidential visits, high-profile murder cases, and, of course, the weather. In addition, she also served at Wday 6 News for a period of 1 year and 1 month. Borrelli also worked at Citrus TV News in Syracuse, New York, from September 2010 to May 2014 as a reporter. Prior to that, she began working as a reporter for television in Fargo, North Dakota.

In addition to spoiling her two dogs, Sailor and Marina, and hiking, Sophia enjoys volunteering in the community.
