Laura Mock Biography
Laura Mock is an American Emmy Award-winning Weather Forecaster working at FOX 23 News serving as a Meteorologist since she joined the station in July 2017. Formerly, Mock worked at WHSV TV as a Meteorologist and Reporter.
Education | Career
Mock studied at the University of Oklahoma from 2009 to 2014 where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. She interned at KOCO in Oklahoma City and went storm-chasing in her free time while attending OU. Laura worked in Harrisonburg, Virginia for three years following her graduation.
She is currently performing her duties as a Weekday Morning Meteorologist since April 2022. Laura first joined the station working as a Weekend Meteorologist from July 2017 to April 2022 prior to her current position. She has always been captivated by the weather since childhood.
Mock is deeply engaged in the meteorological community. She is a member of both the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. In addition to serving on several NWAS committees, Laura is the co-vice president of the AMS/NWA branch in her community.
Mock has provided coverage of devastating hurricanes and wildfires, as well as assistance to Green Country throughout numerous tornado outbreaks and catastrophic snowstorms. She offers an alternative viewpoint on storm damage because she is a qualified drone pilot. Look for Laura Mock’s monthly astronomy report, Sky Watch, and watch her weekday mornings from 4.30 to 9.
Prior to becoming part of the FOX Network, Laura provided her services as a meteorologist and reporter at the WHSV station. Mock enjoys hiking and kayaking as a way to explore Oklahoma with her spouse. They take pleasure in touring the nation’s national parks.
