Collin Riviello Biography
Collin Riviello is a Chinese-American Reporter and Multimedia Journalist working as a Nightside Reporter at WSPA-TV (7NEWS) in South Carolina. He has been part of the station since January 2024. Before joining his current station he worked as a Multi Skilled Journalist at WQAD News 8 in Moline, Illinois, United States.
Education | Career
In 2012, Riviello attended and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology where he did Solid Modeling and Design. He then joined Montgomery College in 2015 where he did Educational Psychology. In 2016, he joined Mount St.Mary’s University where he attained his Bachelor of Arts in English in 2020. In 2023 Collin did a Pre-Nursing course at Geneva College. For his Master of Journalism, he attended the University of Maryland graduating in May 2022.
During his time in Maryland Collin reported on stories in and around Baltimore, College Park, and Washington. Riviello currently serves as a Nightside Reporter at 7NEWS (WSPA-TV) in South Carolina since joining the station in January 2024. He is honored to be part of the 7NEWS team and is happy to begin another new journey in the Palmetto State.
Before joining his current station he worked as a multi-skilled journalist at WQAD in Moline, Illinois, covering news in rural Iowa and Illinois. During his tenure there he covered a few events like the 2022 Midterm election cycle, the flooding of the Mississippi River, and the May 2023 Davenport Apartment Collapse.
When off his duties, he likes to run on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, pick up delicious sweets from the Greenville Farmers Market, watch anime, and in the true spirit of never forgetting his childhood, play video games.
Collin is proud of his Maryland roots but his favorite sports teams are the Washington Commanders, Washington Capitals, Washington Nationals, and D.C. United. Besides Journalism, Collin is also an astrophotographer and avid chess player.
