Christine attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a Bachelor’s in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science in 2010. While in college she had the opportunity to intern at the CBS affiliate WLTX and WACH Fox in Columbia. She also interned as a Multimedia Intern alongside Capitol Reporter Robert Kittle at WSPA in Columbia.
During her tenure in Columbia, Christine covered the 2010 gubernatorial election when South Carolina elected its first female governor Nikki Haley. She covered Sarah Palin’s book signing of “America by Heart,” and she shook President Obama’s hand on his visit to Columbia during his campaign.
Scarpelli currently serves as a Morning reporter at WSPA-TV (7NEWS) in South Carolina. She joined 7NEWS in January 2011 as a digital journalist. She now serves as a morning reporter and has a weekly segment called Let’s Eat. When off her duties, she enjoys cooking, hiking, being active outside, and cheering on the NY Yankees. Like many, Scarpelli has fallen in love with the South for its warm, beautiful weather and friendly faces.
