Dirk Verdoorn is a passionate American Forecasting Meteorologist at KCRA 3, and an Inspirational Mentor to kids in matters of weather. He started working at the station in 1998 but he had experienced California weather for the better part of his life.

Verdoorn attended the University of Utah between 1992 and 1996, where he eventually acquired a degree in Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
Dirk joined KCRA 3 in 1998 and has been a passionate weather reporter on KCRA TV since then. Having experienced California weather for quite a long time in his life, Dirk has covered all types of weather such as flooding, winds, droughts, and all that concerns Northern California weather. Additionally, Dirk inspires many children to learn about the weather and the environment. This passion for the weather can be seen on KCRA 3 Weekend Reports at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. where the weather comes first!
