Ashley Glass is an American journalist working at WPTV since joining the station in April 2022. Previously she held the position of Morning News Anchor at WPEC-TV CBS12 News in West Palm Beach, Florida from January 2019 to April 2022.
Education Career
After earning her high school diploma, Glass pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication-News at the University of Florida, graduating with honors in 2004. She joined WPTV-TV as a Morning News Anchor and Journalist in April 2022, she provided extensive coverage, including the aftermath of Hurricane Ian in southwest Florida and insights into voter sentiments during the midterm elections. Additionally, Glass reported live from the Treasure Coast during Hurricane Nicole’s landfall, among other notable assignments.
Immediately after graduation, Ashley commenced her career as an Anchor and Reporter at WCJB TV20 in Gainesville. She transitioned to WICS-TV in Springfield, IL, where she anchored weekend evening newscasts and served as a Crime Beat Reporter before becoming a General Assignment Reporter and fill-in Anchor for weekday newscasts.
Later, Glass joined WPEC-TV CBS12 News in West Palm Beach as an Anchor and Reporter, handling weekday morning newscasts and contributing to major coverage, including the murder-for-hire case. Subsequently, she transitioned to WFTS-TV in Tampa, anchoring the 4 pm weekday newscasts and reporting as a General Assignment Reporter, covering events such as the Gulf oil spill, the Casey Anthony trial, and the Trayvon Martin shooting.
Following her role at WPTV-TV, Ashley became a Public Information Officer at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa. Afterward, she joined WPEC-TV CBS12 News again, serving as a Morning News Anchor for approximately 3 years.
Before joining the WPTV team, Ashley worked as a national correspondent for Scripps, exploring a wide range of issues, from plastic pollutants to long COVID-19 research, Juneteenth celebrations, and mental health resources, across the country.
