Brittany Morgan Biography
Brittany Morgan is an American Award-winning News Personality working at WDBJ7 News serving as a Sports Director since January 2023. Morgan joined the station in July 2021 and played her role as a Multimedia Journalist prior to her promotion. Formerly, she worked at WTAP station as an Anchor and Producer.
Education | Career
Morgan studied at Northern Virginia Community College from 2012 to 2015 where she received an Associate’s degree in General Studies. She later enrolled at George Mason University and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Sports Communications.
Brittany has performed her duties as a Sports Director at WDBJ7 News station since January of 2023. Prior to her current role, she served as a Multimedia Journalist for the station and began hosting weekend morning shows in November 2021 following her securing of employment in July 2021.
She started out in journalism as the Weekend MMJ for Parkersburg, West Virginia’s WTAP News. From there, in July 2019, Morgan started producing and anchoring the Noon show at WTAP in addition to presenting the morning program. In 2020, she was honored with an Ohio Associated Press Media Editors award for her anchoring.
Brittany also handled sideline reporting duties for two seasons for Football Frenzy Overtime, WTAP’s live high school football broadcasts. She performed for five years at the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Hanover, Maryland, before joining WTAP. Additionally, she also worked in the Washington Nationals’ entertainment department for the 2017 and 2018 baseball seasons.
