Brittney Shipp is an American Emmy-Award Winning Meteorologist working as a Weekday Evening Meteorologist for NBC10 in Philadelphia. Shipp rejoined NBC10 in January 2018 after spending 2 years at KRON-TV in San Francisco where she served as a Chief meteorologist.

Shipp graduated from the University of Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development Studies. She also holds a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She started her career at KYMA-TV in Yuma, Arizona where she served as a weekday morning weather reporter.

After a while, Shipp left the station joining KTVK-3TV in Phoenix, Arizona where she worked as a weekday morning weather reporter and special assignment reporter. Additionally, Ship has served as a fill-in weather anchor for 4 national shows including NBC’s Early Today, MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Way Too Early, and First Look.

Shipps’s works include covering the tornado outbreaks in the summer of 2021 and the second snowiest winter of 2014. For her work, she has won Emmys and has been nominated for 5 Emmy Awards. Shipp loves meteorology and working in the Great Philadelphia area is a dream come true for her as she has always wanted to work there. She is currently NBC10’s weekday evening meteorologist.

Besides her professional work, Brittney is also passionate about educational school visits, diversity in children’s literature, and bridging the gender gap in STEM careers. Through school visits, mentoring, and volunteering, she is dedicated to energizing young girls and students to understand weather and science-related careers. She has even written a children’s book titled The Meteorology in Me.
