Bruce Beck is an American Emmy Award Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a lead sports Anchor for NBC 4 New York. He has been part of the station for over 2 decades and continues to be the people’s favorite sports anchor in the Tri-State area. Bruce is the host of Sports Final, WNBC’s popular Sunday Night Sports Show.

Education | Career

Beck attended and graduated from Livingston High School in 1974 with a High School Diploma. He then joined Ithaca College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1978. While in college he was honored with the Jessica Savitch Award of Destruction for Excellence in Journalism.

Beck now serves as a Sports Anchor for NBC 4 New York and has been part of the station for over two decades. He joined the station in 1997 and hosts Sports Final, WNBC’s popular Sunday night sports show. He is the host and sideline reporter for New York Giants pre-season football.

During the pandemic, his reporting was a key component of NBC 4 New York’s award-winning COVID-19 coverage. He has covered several sports events for NBC 4 including 5 Super Bowls, 3 NBA Finals, 6 Stanley Cup Finals, and 7 World Series. As of 2024, he has hosted and contributed to several NBC 4 New York specials including the live broadcast of the New York City Marathon, and The Belmont Stakes.

Beck started his career as a staff broadcaster for MSG Network from 1982 to 1994. During his tenure there, he hosted the station’s coverage of the Knicks, Rangers, and Yankees. Additionally, he was the play-by-play announcer for college football and basketball, professional Golden Gloves boxing, and professional tennis.

Besides this, he has also worked for NBA TV as a studio anchor from 2000 to 2008. He also served as a play-by-play announcer for the Ultimate Fighting Championship from 1994 to 1997, calling UFC 4 through UFC 15. Additionally, he called the blow-by-blow for USA Network, numerous international broadcasts, and Showtime Championship Boxing.
