Bruce Hamilton Biography
Bruce Hamilton is an American Emmy Award Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a Weekday Morning News Anchor at News4JAX in Jacksonville, Florida. He joined the station in February 2001 and anchors the weekday Morning Newscats from 5 am to 9 am.
Education | Career
Hamilton joined Temple University in 1973 and graduated in 1977 with a bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. He took on other jobs after graduating and eventually began his journalism career in 1991 as a Main News Anchor for KYW-TV 3 in the Great Philadelphia Area. He served the station for 6 years before leaving in 1997.
Bruce currently serves as a News Anchor at News4JAX in Jacksonville, Florida. He joined the station in February 2001 and has been working here ever since. Over the years of his professional career, he has had the opportunity to interview several presidents including George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
Besides interviewing presidents, Bruce has also covered major Political conventions and reported on breaking news sports around the globe. His journalism work has not gone unnoticed and he has received numerous awards and recognitions. He has won an Emmy Award and his reporting was recognized by the Association of Television Arts and Sciences, the Central Florida Press Club, and Several other journalistic organizations.

Bruce Hamilton Heart Surgery
On July 17 2023 Hamilton has an open heart surgery to replace a leaking aortic valve at Memorial Hospital. The surgery was led by Dr. Dale Muller and his talented team. Hamilton stayed away from work for about 10 weeks recovering from the surgery. After a successful operation, Hamilton later returned to News4JAX and is in good shape and health. He thanked his viewers for all the support, cards, notes, texts, and prayers.
