Maxwell studied at Magna Vista High School where she joined in August 2019 and finished in May 2023. She joined Patrick & Henry Community College where she got an associate of Arts and Sciences in May 2023. She received a dual degree from Virginia Tech in 2019 in Meteorology and Multimedia Journalism with a degree in Geography.
Her first job landed her in Bluefield, WV at our sister station WVVA, during her senior year of college in 2018. She then joined WDBJ in March 2022 and is excited to forecast the dynamic climate. When WDBJ needed a meteorologist in March 2022, they saw the benefit of hiring a young woman who graduated from the top-rated meteorology program in the southern U.S., who just happened to be a native of Christiansburg and who lived her entire life within the station’s footprint.
