Aguayo attended and graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. Aguayo currently works as a Mian Evening News Anchor at 9&10 News in Michigan. Since visiting Northern Michigan and working alongside the 9&10 team Christina knew this would be her new home. She looks forward to serving the Northern Michigan folk.
Christina began her professional career in Greenville, Mississippi at WABG where she covered the SEC, SWAC, GSC, and local high school sports. She started as the Weekend Sports Anchor and was quickly promoted to Sports Director. During her tenure there she enjoyed covering The Big Ten, The Indianapolis Colts, The Indiana Pacers, The Cincinnati Bengals, ECHL Hockey, Minor League Baseball, and the NBA D-League Champion Mad Ants.
Furthermore, Christina continued her in-depth focus on local community sports focusing on the local boxing community. She covered local champion Robert Easter Jr. on his journey to becoming the IBF Lightweight World Champion. Additionally, she covered four-time world champion Adrian Broner, world champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, and Rau’shee Warren.
Her most notable achievement stemmed from her special reports, where her talent for storytelling and creativity stood out. Within a year of entering the news industry, she was offered the chance to craft, produce, and host her own 30-minute political news program in Denver, Colorado, airing on WeatherNation TV. This was a new challenge that she was thrilled to take on.
The show was quickly expanded to one hour and the company could sell it on Satellite television and numerous cable outlets. After spending time at the national level, Christina wanted to get back to local, where she could personally connect, and form relationships with the community she serves. When off her duties Aguayo loves exploring the area and having a good time outdoors.
