Cindy Preszler Biography
Cindy Preszler is an American Emmy Award-Winning Meteorologist working as an On-Air Meteorologist at CBS4 News Miami. She is an experienced television broadcast meteorologist with decades of experience and she has been part of CBS4 Miami since September 2022. Before joining her current station she worked as a meteorologist at WFTX FOX 4, in Fort Myers, Florida.
Education | Career
Preszler attended and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 1982. She then joined Mississippi State University in 1989 graduating in 1993 in Mississippi State University with a Degree in Broadcast Meteorology.
She currently works as an On-Air Meteorologist at CBS4 News Miami. Cindy joined the station in September 2022 and is honored to serve the South Florida people. With decades of on-air experience, she is honored to be a part of CBS4 News Miami people.
Before joining her current station she worked as an on-air meteorologist at WFTX FOX 4 in Fort Myers, Florida from 2019 to 2022. Back in 2016, she founded and operated WeatherSTL.com, a dynamic, interactive website, which delivered up-to-date weather information for the Greater St.Louis metro area until 2019.
Preszler was the chief meteorologist at KSDK NewsChannel 5 in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1998 until 2016 where she covered every type of weather from winter storms and ice to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Before arriving in St. Louis in October 1998, Preszler worked for several TV stations, including Chicago’s NBC-owned WMAQ, as well as The Weather Channel.
Preszler was the first female meteorologist to cover a landfalling hurricane for The Weather Channel and has won 5 regional Emmy awards. She has done fill-in work for both The Today Show (NBC) and CBS This Morning, and she was also featured in a Sports Illustrated article about the Women of Weather.
