Jacob Tobey Biography
Jacob Tobey is an American Sports Journalist working as a Weekend Sports Anchor at 9NEWS in Denver Colorado. He has been part of the station since August 2020 before which he worked as a Sports Anchor and Reporter at KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Besides his journalism career, Tobey is also an Acoustic performer and Songwriter. He uses his social media accounts to share videos of him singing and performing on different occasions and events.

In 2011 Jacob joined Sturgis East Charter Public School where he was under the International Baccalaureate Program and completed the program in 2015. He then joined Suffolk University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish in 2018. Before starting his journalism career he took on other jobs like being a Head Basketball Coach at Red Sky Sports Academy in Osterville, MA for 5 years and 2 months.
Jacob also worked as a Wareham Gatemen play-by-play broadcaster for the Cape Cod Baseball League from June 2015 to August 2017. He currently serves as a Weekend Sports Anchor at 9NEWS (KUSA-TV) in Denver Colorado. In addition to anchoring and reporting, Jacob is a play-by-play broadcaster for the PAC-12 Network and FS1.
He joined 9NEWS in August 2020 after working as a Sports Anchor and Reporter at KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has also served as a Reporter and Producer at NECN in the Greater Boston Area from January 2018 to July 2018.
Besides journalism, Jacob is also a musician. When off his duties, he sings and plays acoustic guitar and gigs in Denver bars and restaurants or just out for a casual karaoke night. He also loves to be active and is ready for any pick-up basketball, volleyball, golf, or soccer game in the city. He’s also becoming a real Coloradan and is getting pretty good at hitting the slopes on his skis. If not playing a sport, Jacob can be found at home with his 3-year-old chocolate lab, Sammy.
