Education | Career
Aarons attended and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. He began his professional career in Butte, Montana where he served KXLF as a sports reporter and anchor. During his tenure there, he focused on city government and economic development as the city tried to find its way through an economic downturn.
He currently serves as a Weeday Morning Anchor and 11 am reporter for ABC10 in San Diego. He joined the station in September 2014 and initially served as a Morning Show reporter and MMJ. In June 2022, he was promoted to Weekend Evening Anchor. He assumed his current role as a Weekday Morning Anchor in October 2022.
Before joining his current station he served as a sports director at KGAN/KFXA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During his tenure there he focused on city government and economic development as the city tried to find its way through an economic downturn.
Aarons has a lot of family all over the Southwest and coming to San Diego was a great way for him to get closer to home and he is grateful for that. When off his duties, he loves running at the beach, watching movies, collecting bobbleheads, or trying his best never to eat at the same restaurant twice.
