Jeff attended and graduated from Niagara University with a B.A. in communications. Jeff was among the few students who earned a scholarship to play basketball for the university. Additionally, Jeff served as an inductee of the Specs Howard School of Broadcasting in Michigan Hall of Fame.
Jeff currently works as a Sports Anchor and Reporter for NBC 5 in Chicago. He joined the station in June 2016 and has been working here ever since. He seems to be enjoying his stay here and is honored to serve the Chicago folk.
Jeff started his professional career as a sports reporter and anchor at the NBC affiliate in Lima Ohio. It was here that he learned the ropes of the industry and sharpened his anchoring and reporting skills.
After a while, Blanzy moved to the ABC affiliate in Toledo, Ohio where he served as a sports director and even earned Emmy nominations for his good work at the station. He also served the AB affiliate in Chicago as a Weekend Sports Anchor for over a decade. Like many sports journalists, his goal is to be informative as well as entertaining. When off his duties he loves spending time with his children and enjoying any outdoor activity together.
