Jennifer Waugh Biography
Jennifer Waugh is an American Emmy Award Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a co-anchor of The Morning Show at News4JAX in Jacksonville, Florida. She joined the station in 1998 and initially served as the station’s weekend anchor before her promotion in June 2013.
Education
Jennifer attended and graduated from Jacksonville Country Day School and later joined Episcopal High School. During her high school days, she played volleyball and was a member of the basketball team. She was once the captain of the Volleyball and basketball teams. After high school, she joined Boston University’s School of Journalism where she attained her Degree in Journalism.
Career
Waugh currently serves as a Morning Anchor of The Morning Show at News4JAX and is also an I-Team reporter. She joined the station back in 1998 and has been working here ever since. She has covered numerous stories for the station and has also broken several exclusive stories surrounding the arrest and prosecution of three officers.
Her most memorable story is the murder of Maddie Clifton (8 years old). She loved how the Jacksonville people reached out to Clifton’s family after the tragedy. Over the years she has received numerous awards and recognitions including four Emmy Awards and three regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Besides crime and murder, Jennifer has also covered other significant stories in the area and beyond. She traveled to Houston during the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and tracked down a Jacksonville triple murder suspect in Mexico and his arrest in Kentucky.
Waugh initially served News4JAX as a weekend anchor before her promotion in March 206 to the evening anchor. She anchored the weekday 5:30, 6:30, and 11 pm newscasts. She dropped this role in June 2013 and took on a new one as the station’s co-anchor of The Morning Show.
Besides News4JAX Jennifer has also worked for stations like WJKS in Jacksonville, and WBSG in Brunswick, GA. When off her duties she loves spending time with her family, volunteering in the community, and exploring new places and restaurants.
