Julie Nelson Biography
Julie Nelson is an American News anchor working for KARE channel 11 which is an NBC affiliate based in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area in Minnesota. Nelson joined KARE-TV in September 2003, you can follow her as she anchors the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. News at the station. Before joining the station she was working for t KSTP-TV.

After graduating with honors from Eau Claire’s Memorial H.S. in 1990, Nelson went to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and history. She served on the School’s Journalism Alumni Board from 2002 to 2005. Julie currently works for KARE-TV anchoring the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. News.
Previously, she worked at KSTP channel 5 which is also an ABC affiliate where she was named “Best Newcomer” by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine after only a few months of working there. She was then named one of the area’s “One Hundred People to Watch by the same magazine after 1 year of service. In addition, for her skillful job, Julie was able to win a regional Emmy, the Eric Sevareid award, 3 “Best TV Newscaster” Awards from City Pages, and a Regional Murrow award.
