Scullin attended and graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism. She currently serves as a Friday and Saturday Night Anchor and Weekday Reporter at FOX 9 in the Twin Cities. She has lived in Minnesota for over a decade and she is honored to call Minnesota home.
Scullin started her professional career inside a TV barn in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. After a while, she moved to Greenville, Mississippi, Evansville, Salt Lake City, and Philadelphia. She has served stations like KYW CBS 3, KSL 5 Eyewitness News, and WEHT-TV. Over the years of working across the state, she has covered numerous headline-hitting stories.
Karen has spent most of her career covering crime stories and her favorite one is covering the kidnapping and return of Elizabeth Smart. She also covered the disappearance and tragic murder of 10-year-old Barway Collins of Crystal. She enjoys covering stories that bring important issues to light and that give the people a voice in the community.
Karen believes that numerous groups are working to bring a positive impact to the community and she ensures these groups are heard. In 2002 she covered the Salt Lake Olympic Games where she got the chance to meet people and athletes from across the world.
