Kelcey Carlson Biography
Kelcey Carlson is an American Emmy Award Winning Anchor and Reporter working as an Evening Anchor for FOX 9 in the Twin Cities. She joined the station in 2014 and has been working here ever since.
Education | Career at FOX9
Carlson attended and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a minor in French. She currently serves as an Evening Anchor for FOX 9 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kelcey joined the station in 2014 and has been working there ever since.
Since joining FOX 9 she has covered numerous stories in the area including the explosion of Minnehaha Academy. She has also covered the Super Bowl in Houston and the Super Bowl in the Twin Cities. Additionally, she helped break the PJ Fleck’s hiring at the University of Minnesota with the help of her contrast from back in Kalamazoo.
When off her duties, Kelcey is an avid runner and has by far completed 31 marathons. She has run 7 Boston Marathons 3 of which she qualified under the men’s timing standard. Carlson won the Grandfather Mountain Marathon in Boone, North Carolina in 2011. She is also active in the community and is currently on the board of The Positive Coaching Alliance in Minnesota.

Career
The bigger portion of her professional career was spent at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina where she was initially hired as a reporter. She was later promoted to weekend anchor and finally morning anchor. During her tenure there, she covered several hurricanes including Hurricane Isabel. Besides hurricanes, she also covered the Duke Lacrosse case and the criminal case against John Edwards.
Kelcey began her career at the CBS affiliate in South Carolina, WBTW as a weekend producer. She then moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where she joined WWMT-Ch. 3 as an investigative reporter. After covering several bi stories like the execution of Timothy McVeigh she was promoted to weekday morning anchor.
Carlson’s work has not gone unrecognized and she has received numerous awards and nominations over the years. She has earned Emmy nominations for her enterprise reporting and her work on John Edwards’ criminal case. She even won an Emmy award for Best Weekend Newscast during her tenure at WRAL-TV.
