Kim Bokamper Biography
Kim Bokamper is an American Former Professional football player currently working as a Sports Anchor and Reporter at CBS4 Miami. He played for the Miami Dolphins from 1977 to 1985 as a lineback and defensive end. He joined WFOR-TV (CBS4 Miami) after retirement.
Education | Career
Bokamper attended and graduated from San Jose State in ’76. Before starting his journalism career he played American Football. He was selected in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft by the Dolphins after playing college football for the San Jose State Spartans. Kim was a member of the Dophins’ Killer B’s defense of the early 1980s and was a one-time Pro Bowler in 1979.
For the Dolphins he started at right defensive end in Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XIX. Against the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XVII, Kim was involved in a play in which he deflected a pass attempt from Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann, and nearly intercepted the deflected pass in the end zone, for a touchdown.
After retirement, he became a broadcaster at WFOR-TV CBS4 Miami. He can be heard on South Florida’s Paul and Young Ron Show on WBGG-Miami anytime NFL news breaks. Besides WFOR-TV he was also part of the Morning team on WQAM-AM along with Kenny Walker. He also hosted the weeknight Dolphins Tonight Show on WQAM in 2008.
He also opened Florida “Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill” locations in Miramar, Estero, Naples, and Fort Lauderdale. Additionally, he serves as the host of The Audible. In the program, he speaks with Dolphins personalities and gives viewers an inside look at the team.
Kim believes in giving back to the community and is constantly involved with charitable organizations. As a successful businessman and consultant, Kim donates his time to several charitable organizations, like the American Cancer Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Association, the United Way, and the Special Olympics.
