Kimberly Hunt is an American Emmy Award-Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a Chief Anchor and managing editor at ABC10 in San Diego, California. She anchors the station’s newscasts at 4 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, and 11 pm on weeknights with Steve Atkinson.

Education | Career

Hunt is a proud graduate of San Francisco State University where she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. While in college, she had the opportunity to work as a radio news reporter for KVON Radio in Napa. This was useful as she was able to sharpen her storytelling skills.

Kimberly currently serves as a news reporter, chief anchor, and managing editor at ABC10 in San Diego anchoring the station’s 4, 6, 7, and 11 pm weeknight newscasts alongside Steve Atkinson. She rejoined the station in 2008 and has been working here ever since.

Hunt began her television career at KMST (now KION-TV) in Monterey, a CBS affiliate. In 1987, she moved to San Diego and became an anchor for KGTV, an ABC affiliate. Alongside Carol LeBeau, she co-anchored evening newscasts for fifteen years, making them the longest-running female anchor team in the U.S. In October 2002, Hunt joined KUSI News, where she anchored weeknight newscasts and hosted the weekend show San Diego People for five years.

When off her duties she loves volunteering in the community. She has volunteered as Mistress of Ceremonies for numerous organizations like The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The March of Dimes, and the San Diego Burn Institute, among other organizations.
