Kirstin Cole Biography
Kirstin Cole is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working as a weekend morning anchor and reporter for PIX11 News in New York. She joined PIX11 News in April 2011 after serving as an anchor and reporter for a decade at WCBS-TV.
Education | Career
Cole graduated from the University of Connecticut and later joined Loyola University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Journalism. Cole worked as a Member Relations Associate for Connecticut Public Broadcasting from 1986 to 1992. She also served as a Marketing Associate for MasterCard for two years.
From 1997 to 1999, Cole worked for WSYX-TV as an anchor and reporter. She then joined News 12 Long Island as a freelance reporter and anchor where she worked for a year. In 2001, Cole joined WCBS-TV as a consumer investigative reporter and anchor where she served for a decade.
Cole’s role as an investigative reporter has exposed scams and harmful products. She’s also responsible for getting thousands of dollars back to countless consumers. Additionally, Cole’s reporting has exposed child discrimination, drunk high-rise construction workers, illegal botox, appliance repair rip-offs, nursing home abuses, dangerous daycares, and diamond-buying scams.
Besides her profession, Cole is also actively involved in the community. She is part of many charitable organizations including the Achilles Track Club, and the New York Institute of Technology among others. In addition, she donates her time to charities benefiting NYPD families, children in foster care, people struggling with addiction, and volunteer first responders.
Cole’s work has garnered her numerous awards and recognitions including Emmys and Associated Press Awards from the Society of Silurians and The Society of Professional Journalists. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, playing tennis, and spending time with her family.
