Lauren Petty Biography
Lauren Petty is an American Anchor and Reporter working as a fill-in anchor and reporter at NBC 5 Chicago. She joined the station in January 2012 and a time in 2019 her reporting started to focus more on medical advances and healthy living. Before joining her current station she served as a weekend anchor and reporter at WVIT in Hartford, Connecticut.

Petty attended and graduated from Lyons Township High School with a High School diploma. Later on, she joined the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Petty also attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where she did her Master’s Degree in Journalism.
Petty currently serves as a reporter and fill-in anchor at NBC 5 Chicago. She joined the station in January 2012 and since 2019, her reporting has focused on healthy living and medical advances. Petty is honored to be part of the NBC 5 Chicago team and is thrilled to be serving the Chicago folk.
Before joining her current station, Petty worked at WVIT in Hartford, Connecticut. She served the station as a Weekend Anchor and reporter for 6 years. Petty also worked for WICD in Champaign, Illinois, and CNN International in London as a field producer and desk assistant.

On March 22, 2024, Petty shared a post on her Instagram and through this post, we get to know that Claire had had an accident. Claire underwent surgery to repair her nail bed after she had slammed her thumb into the car door. The surgery was successful and Clarie seems to be recovering well.
