Leticia Ordaz Biography
Leticia Ordaz is an American Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter, Award-Winning Author and Publisher. As an Anchor and Reporter, Leticia works for KCRA 3, Hearst, and My58 Television, and as an Author, she works for Cielito Lindo Books. She started working for KCRA 3 in 2003 first as a general assignment reporter before taking the role of an Anchor.
Education | Career
Ordaz went to Galt High School for her high school Diploma, she then joined California State University, Sacramento, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a minor in government. While still at the University, Ordaz was working at KCRA 3 as an intern.
Leticia’s first broadcasting job was at KENV which is in the small town of Elko, Nevada. She was given the roles of an anchor and reporter at the station. In addition, she also worked for KGET in Bakersfield as a general assignment reporter. Leticia then got a job at KMPH in Fresno where she worked as a reporter.
Ordaz currently works as an Anchor and Reporter for KCRA 3, Hearst, and My58 Television. Additionally, she is an Author and Publisher for Cielito Lindo Books. She joined KCRA 3 in 2003 where she was given the role of a a general assignment reporter. Later, she became an Anchor and she also reports on weekday mornings on KCRA 3 and My58 to date.

Apart from anchoring, reporting, and publishing books, Leticia loves to promote literacy. She teams up with schools and non-profits to read books to students and young hospital patients. Her two young boys have motivated her towards this noble cause, which is why she always shares diverse stories with children everywhere. Her wish is to break barriers and change statistics that show only 5% of American children’s books feature Latinx characters or subjects. She also wants to change the fact that only 5% of Latinx authors and illustrators published in the U.S.
On the other hand, Leticia joined the National Association of Hispanic Journalists participating as a member. She is also a member of the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. In addition to that, she also joined the International Society of Latino Authors (ISLA), good to note that she is fluent in Spanish.

Leticia was born and brought up in Northern California alongside her sister and her brother, she is the middle child. Her grandfather turned 100 in 2014 and according to Leticia, his family has the longevity gene.
This is so because her great-grandfather also lived to be 106 and her great-grandmother lived to be 120. There is something about this family that you need to know, they prefer farm-fresh cooking and they do not eat fast food. By the way, Ordaz is a vegetarian, she announced this to her parents when she was only 8 years old. Ordaz’s grandparents live in Tracy and in 2014, they celebrated 80 years of marriage.
