Liz Cho Biography
Liz Cho is an American news anchor working at WABC-TV in New York City serving as a co-anchor of the station’s Eyewitness News First at 4 pm and Eyewitness News at 6 pm. She joined the station in 2003.
Education | Career
Cho attended Boston University where she majored in journalism and history. She then began her broadcasting career working in Newton, Massachusetts at New England Cable News where she served as an assignment editor.
Liz gained enough experience that soon landed her a job at WPLG in Miami, Florida where she served as a reporter. Her stay there was not long and with time she packed her bags to Chicago where she got a job at ABC News as a correspondent for ABC NewsOne, which is the network’s affiliate news service.
With time, Cho took yet a new role in the station, she started serving as the co-anchor of World News Now, ABC’s overnight news program, with Derek McGinty. In addition, she was still serving as a fill-in anchor for Good Morning America and correspondent.

Cho is currently a co-anchor of WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News at 6 pm and Eyewitness News First at 4 pm. She joined WABC-TV on July 7, 2003, where she anchored the station’s new “First at 4:00” newscast, with David Novarro. This was after the departure of The Oprah Winfrey Show so she took that hour. She was previously working at ABC News, serving as a correspondent for the network and an anchor for World News Now.
During her time at ABC News, Liz used to travel the country where she covered big stories. Some of such stories include devastating tornadoes in the Midwest, Columbine High School shootings, and President Clinton’s impeachment hearings. Further, for Good Morning America, she anchored coverage of the beginning of the weeks of the Iraq War.
On the other hand, Cho worked as a reporter at WPLG-TV in Miami before joining ABC7. She also worked at New England Cable News in Newton, Massachusetts as an assignment editor.

Liz was born and brought up in Concord, Massachusetts alongside her younger brother, Andrew. Her late father is Sang In Cho and her mother is Donna Cho {née Weltman}. Her dad was a Korean American surgeon, he was born and brought up in South Korea but later on moved to the United States to practice medicine. Sang worked as a a liver and kidney transplant surgeon, in fact, he was the head of the team that did the first liver transplant in Boston.
Unfortunately, Sang, Cho’s dad passed on due to colon cancer on March 13, 2009. Cho’s mum Donna Cho was working as a Jewish-American nurse. Much is not about her brother Andrew.

After the divorce, Cho decided to move on with her love life, she started dating journalist Josh Elliott and in August 2014 the two became engaged. They then got married in Montecito, California on July 11, 2015. To date, this happy family lives together in Manhattan.
