Lucy Bustamante Biography
Lucy Bustamante is an American Emmy Award-Winning Anchor working as a Morning Anchor for NBC10 and breaking news anchor for Telemundo62. She joined NBC10 in September 2018 after serving as a News Anchor for 13News Now (WVEC) in Norfolk, Virginia, United States.
Education
Bustamante graduated from Cabrini High School in New Orleans in 1998 with a high school diploma. She then joined Loyola University where she graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
Career
Lucy began her professional career in May 2002 when she joined WALA-TV FOX10 in Mobile, Alabama as a Fill-In Anchor and Reporter. She spent about 2 years serving at WALA-TV and left the station in June 2004.
Lucy then landed a job as an Anchor for WWL-TV. At WWL-TV, she anchored the 9 pm and 10 pm newscasts. She also reported news of the day and filed investigative reports. She spent 6 years and 5 months at WWL-TV and left the station in October 2010.
Lucy’s next stop was Norfolk, Virginia where she joined 13News Now as a New Anchor and spent 7 years and 10 months serving this station. In September 2018 she joined NBC10 in Philadelphia where she now serves as a Morning News Anchor. She is also a breaking news anchor for Telemundo62.
Over the years of her career, she has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work as both a reporter and anchor. Lucy is a 4 time Emmy winner and a Telly Award winner. In June 2019, she was honored for her work anchoring the explosion of the Philadelphia Energy Solutions plant in South Philly.
As of 2024, she is an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She is also the organization’s former founding member and she has been involved with the Naval Officers Spouses Association as well as the NBC Universal Veterans network.

Bustamante currently works at NBC10, she joined this station in 2018 after leaving 13News Now (WVEC). Her stay at NBC10 has been interesting and eye-opening for her. Together with the news team at NBC10, Lucy created a reporting series that covers issues impacting veterans in the states and abroad. She titled the series American Vets. In 2022, Lucy cohosted and co-produced American Vets: Beyond the Battlefield.
