Margo Gray Biography
Margo Gray is an American News Personality working at WAFF TV serving as a News Anchor since she joined the station in September 2009. Formerly, Gray worked at WWAY News 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina as a Reporter.
Education | Career
Gray received her degree in Telecommunications-News with a Sociology minor from the University of Florida. She worked as a reporter at UF for the university television station WUFT News 5 and radio station WRUF AM 850. Margo also worked as an intern for Orlando’s WKMG CBS Local 6 during her final year of college.
She is currently performing her duties as a news anchor for the WAFF TV Network since she secured a position at the station in September 2009. Margo has reported on events that have changed people’s lives, such as the disastrous tornado outbreak that occurred on April 27, 2011, the shooting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Department of Human Resources appointment of an unlicensed behavioral specialist to handle child custody matters.
Additionally, she received recognition from the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama for her investigative reporting on a fraudulent farming enterprise that involved a pyramid scheme that defrauded families in the valley of thousands of dollars.
Gray worked as a coast reporter for WWAY News 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina, for two years before relocating to North Alabama. She was honored there with an award from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas for her educational series. Her official career in broadcast journalism began when she worked as an assignment manager for Gainesville’s ABC station, WCJB TV20 News.
Margo participates actively in both the National Association of Black Journalists and the Investigative Reporters & Editors organization. She mentors young people in the area and teaches manners workshops as a way of giving back to the Rocket City neighborhood. When she’s not working, she enjoys salsa dancing, watching documentaries with her spouse, and supporting her favorite football team—GO GATORS!
