Mike Grogan Biography
Mike Grogan is an American News Personality working at FOX 23 News serving as a Broadcast Meteorologist since he joined the station in March 2020. Formerly, Grogan worked at Griffin Communications as a Broadcast Meteorologist.
Education | Career
In 2008, Grogan graduated with honors in meteorology from Valparaiso University in Indiana. Mike joined the American Meteorological Society after that and is currently the president of the local chapter. Additionally, he holds an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist certification. Grogan is currently performing his duties at the FOX 23 News station serving as a broadcast meteorologist since he joined the station in March 2020.
He is delighted to be working at FOX23 to further his career in Green Country. Since April 2011, he has predicted every weather event in Tulsa, including tornado outbreaks and winter storms. Prior to then, he reported on weather from Hagerstown, Maryland, throughout the Mid-Atlantic states. Apart from reporting on extreme weather conditions from the studio, Grogan also enjoys storm-chasing. He has chased storms in more than 15 states around the nation and loves every opportunity he gets to see Mother Nature at her most intense.
Mike participates actively in the community, he is on the boards of the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Disaster Resilience Network. In addition, he leads several neighborhood projects that promote cross-cultural emergency preparedness and food justice.
Hobbies
Mike likes to go indoor rock climbing and see the newest performances at Cain’s Ballroom when he’s not working. He also enjoys taking long, extensive trips, frequently in pursuit of a peak to climb. He is making progress toward his objective of reaching the highest point in all 50 states.
