Dooris attended and graduated from Carroll College with a Degree in English in 1982. He then joined Washington State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 1985. After graduating he joined KCWT as a Reporter where he worked for less than a year. Dooris also served as a Reporter for KEVN TV for a year.
From 1986 to 1988 Dooris worked as an Anchor and Reporter for KNDO-TV in Yakima, Washington. His next stop was WFRV TV where he worked as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter from 1988 to 1990. In September 2012 he founded the Pat Dooris Media Corp where he helps individuals and companies make the most of their communication both inside the company and outside. According to his LinkedIn profile, the organization is still up and running with him as the owner.
Dooris now serves as a 6 PM News Anchor for KGW-TV in Portland, Oregon. He joined the station in June 1990 as a News Reporter and was promoted to News Anchor in February 2022.
