Riley Mack is a Multi-Skilled Broadcast Journalist and News Reporter working at 13 ON YOUR SIDE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. She joined the station in the summer of 2021 first as a news intern after COVID-19 before taking the role of a Multi-Platform Journalist.
Education | Career
Mack joined Saint Louis University in 2017 and graduated in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media. During her time at the university, she served as the Head News Writer for the school’s award-winning newspaper, the University News. In addition, she was the President of Leading Women of Tomorrow. Riley was named the winner of the John J. Pauly Award for Outstanding Student Achievement in the field of communication during her graduation.
Mack started her career journey as a Communications Intern at St. Louis Community Foundation where she worked for 8 months from September 2019. Thereafter, Riley was promoted to an Editorial Intern for Sauce Magazine from August 2020 to December 2020.
In May 2018, Riley was employed at The University News as a News Editor in the Greater St. Louis Area. She worked at the institution for 3 years and one month. Riley then got an opportunity to work for Riverfront Times as an Editorial Intern between August 2020 and May 2021. She was then moved to the Riverfront Times on Internship for 3 months, working until August 2021.

Mack currently works as a Multi-Platform Journalist at 13 ON YOUR SIDE where she focuses on lot-of-heart and the little-known stories of West Michigan. She joined the station in 2021 working as an intern before taking her current role.
During her time in this station, she has found West Michigan’s little-known, lot-of-heart stories. Further, she has been able to create a new segment called 13 Eats. In the segment, she tries locally-owned restaurants that are good enough to be tried, and West Michigan’s hidden gems. She jokes that one of the reasons she loves 13 ON YOUR SIDE very much is getting paid to eat.
Mack took a summer-long course on storytelling by Boyd Huppert in 2023 which she says changed her life. This course lit a storytelling fire in her that will last a lifetime. During her free time, you will find her reading thrillers and mysteries, running, or crocheting for fun.
