Sade Baderinwa Biography
Sade Baderinwa is a German-American Award-winning Journalist working at ABC 7 News, serving as an anchor since she joined the station in 2003. Formerly, Baderinwa worked at WBAL-TV, Baltimore, as a Morning and Noon Anchor.
Education | Career
Baderinwa studied at the University of Maryland, College Park, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She is currently works as a 5 pm and 11 pm anchor at ABC 7 News since she became part of the network in 2003.
Sade joined Channel 7 from WBAL-TV in Baltimore, where she was the morning and noon news anchor and the host of a weekly program on community affairs. She began her career as a reporter for WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia. In addition, she also worked as a production assistant for ABC News’ This Week with David Brinkley, Nightline, World News Tonight, and ABC News News One. She was also a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C.
Baderinwa is a strong supporter of giving back to her neighborhood. She has collaborated with various community leaders, students, and organizations in the Tri-State area. Upon being hit by a hit-and-run driver while reporting for Eyewitness News, Sade became an advocate for addressing the mounting issue of hit-and-run incidents. She received the NJ Governor’s Representative Award for Traffic Safety in recognition of her work.
In addition, she designed and developed “Get ‘Reel’ With Your Dreams: The Inside Track,” a popular mentoring program. It introduces prominent TV and film professionals to Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York high school students. The Walt Disney Company, WABC-TV, Lincoln Center Institute, and New York Women in Film and Television are among her partners in this project.
