Sara Flynn Biography
Sara Flynn is an American Award-Winning Meteorologist working as a Weather Forecaster at WOOD TV8 in West Michigan. She joined the station in June 2022 after working as a Meteorologist at KGAN CBS2 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Flynn is happy to be part of the WOOD TV8 weather team and is honored to serve the West Michigan people.

Flynn attended and graduated from Downers Grove South High School with a High School Diploma in 2016. She then joined Iowa State University graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. While in college she interned and worked for different stations across the state.
Flynn interned at WGN-TV in Chicago, Illinois as a Weather Intern, KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, and served as a Meteorology Help Room Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University. She currently works as a Weather Forecaster at WOOD TV8 in West Michigan. She joined the station in June 2022 and is excited to work in the area.
Before joining WOOD TV8, Flynn spent two years forecasting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the local CBS affiliate KGAN CBS 2. During her tenure there, Flynn covered blizzards, a record-breaking December tornado outbreak, and two derechos.
In 2021, she earned an Upper Midwest Emmy Award for Breaking News Coverage of the August 2020 derecho. A few months later, her team earned an Edward R. Murrow Award in the News Documentary category for Iowa Derecho: In Their Own Words. When off her duties, she enjoys trying local restaurants and going for runs. She is eager to explore all of Michigan.
