Tamara Berg Biography

Tamara Berg is an American Meteorologist working for KCRA3, she is also an avid runner, hiker, and CrossFit girl in Sacramento California. Berg joined the KCRA 3 in December of 2011 after working three years as a forecaster at KION-TV in Salinas.

Education | Career

Berg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Baldwin-Wallace University. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.

Tamara began her career as a weekend weathercaster and weekday general assignment reporter in Toledo, Ohio. She reported extreme snowfall events, tracked river flooding, and chased summer thunderstorms in Toledo.

Following her years at KION TV, Tamara obtained a lot of exposure to forecasting various types of weather conditions. She reported on earthquakes, wildfires, mudslides, and the famous tsunami that swept across the shores of Santa Cruz in March 2011.

Tamara enjoys outdoor activities, she has engaged in various marathons and completed one ultramarathon (30+ miles). Tamara is keen on adventure and challenge and actively participates in hiking, biking, snowboarding, and kayaking. Further, she volunteers as a coach for 3rd-5th graders, at Girls on the Run of Sacramento. In addition, Tamara supports Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance and emcees events for the American Heart Association and All About Equine.
