Ty Steele Biography
Ty Steele is an American Emmy Award-Winning News Anchor working as a weekday evening News Anchor and Reporter for KCRA 3 at 4 p.m., 7 p.m., and 10 p.m. news on My58. He joined the station in September 2018.
Education | Career
Steele went to the University of Washington where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 2011. While still in college in Seattle, Washington, he would write for local news websites and various neighborhood newspapers.
Ty knew he wanted to work in the news when he was only eight. By grade three, he was already delivering news on his paper route though he really did not understand news. Even before graduating from the university, TY was working as a TV Producer and Reporter for UWTV Productions, he stayed there for over one year.
For almost one year, he served as an Anchor and Reporter for KVAL-TV, this was actually his first professional job, he left the station in July 2013. The following month, Ty went to KMTR TV in Springfield, Oregon where he took the role of an Evening News Anchor for two years, he then left the station in July 2015 after landing a job at FOX 40 KTXL-TV.
Ty served at FOX 40 KTXL-TV in Sacramento, California as Evening News Anchor for over 3 years then left in September 2018 to join KCRA 3 his current job. He has been working here ever since and is now taking the role of an evening News Anchor. Earlier, he anchored the morning news for three years.
During his free time, you will find him emceeing for local nonprofits and causes that he loves. You will also find him playing with his girls at one of their favorite parks or running on one of the endless trails in his area.
