Carl Prather is an American News Personality working at WAFF TV serving as a Sports Director since he joined the station in May 2009. Formerly, Prather worked at WKAG-TV3 as a Sports Anchor and Reporter.
Education | Career
Prather studied at Western Kentucky University from 2001 to 2005 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism while working at the student-run newsroom on campus. Indeed, he can be ordered to sing his alma mater in the worst possible voice. He is currently performing his duties as a sports director since he secured a position at the network in May 2009.
Sports Director Carl Prather has lived in the Tennessee Valley for the past ten years! Carl enjoys searching for the next “story” every day. His experiences include Iron Bowls, High School State Championships, National Championships, and some of the best stories that portray the people of North Alabama.
Prior to becoming part of the WAFF TV Network, Prather served at WKAG-TV3 in Hopkinsville, KY, as a sports anchor and reporter for a period of 3 years. During his junior and senior summers in college, Prather worked two internships: one at WEAR in Pensacola, Florida (the beach life was too good to resist), and the other at WAVE-TV 3 in Louisville, Kentucky, his hometown.
