Ciara Encinas Biography
Ciara Encinas is a Latino-American Emmy Award-Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter for ABC10 in San Diego, California. She joined the station in December 2021 as a multimedia journalist and was later promoted to her current role. Encinas comes to ABC10 from KGUN-TV On Your Side in Tucson, Arizon.

Encinas attended and graduated from Moon Valley High School in 2014. She then joined the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism in 2018. While in college, she interned at Tucson News Now, UATV 3, CBS News, and KVOA-TV in Tucson, Arizona.
Encinas currently works as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter for ABC10 in San Diego, California. She joined the station in December 2021 as a Multimedia Journalist before her promotion to weekend anchor and reporter. Since joining the station, she has covered numerous stories that hit national and international headlines.
Ciara tracked the changes in migration trends and was among the first people to break border stories. Throughout her career, she has specialized in covering the military. She has had the opportunity to sit down with military families to hear about the issues they face and tell their stories to the world.
Ciara began her career in May 2018 as a News Reporter and Multimedia Journalist for KYMA-TV in Yuma, Arizona. She served the station for 2 years before leaving in April 2020. Before joining her current station she worked as a Multimedia Journalist at KGUN-TV 9 On Your Side in Tucson, Arizona.
When she’s off her duties, Ciara is hiking the beautiful trails in San Diego, visiting coffee spots around town, and loving her pug, Fitz. She can’t wait to start visiting her family in Southern California and cheer on the Padres when baseball season rolls around.
