Cindy Fitzgibbon American Emmy Award-Winning Meteorologist working as a Chief Meteorologist at WCVB in Boston. With over 25 years of meteorology experience, she has spent 20 of these reporting weather in the Boston Market. Education | Career
Fitzgibbon graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Lyndon State College in Vermont. She is also a certified meteorologist by the AMS and National Weather Association and holds an AMS Seal of Approval for Television. She began her career in Bismarck, North Dakota where she worked at KXMB.
Fitzgibbon currently works as a Chief meteorologist at WCVB in Boston. She is also the station’s principal meteorologist for “Forecasting Our Future” special ongoing coverage. Over the years of her professional career, she has won numerous awards and recognitions. Cindy won an Associated Press Award for “Best Weathercaster. She has also been nominated for several National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Awards. In 2021, she won the regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Weather.
Besides her professional work, she is actively involved in the community. She devotes her time to organizations that promote science education, particularly young girls. Cindy also devotes her time to helping raise money for local organizations to fight ASLand MS and has become an ambassador in spreading awareness about Batten Disease.
