Doug Meehan Biography
Doug Meehan is an American Anchor and Reporter working as a Weekday Morning Anchor of WCVB’s EyeOpener. He was the station’s weekend EyeOpener anchor before he got promoted to his current role. Meehan joined WCVB in December 2015 after working as a news anchor for three years at KPNX-TV in Phoenix, AZ.
Education | Career
Meehan attended and graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School and later joined Westfield State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. After graduating, he began his career as a News anchor and Reporter for Cape 11 News in South Yarmouth, MA.
Meehan currently works as a Weekday Morning anchor of the EyeOpener newscasts on WCVB. He joined the station in December 2015 and initially served as a weekend EyeOpener newscast anchor. Before joining his current station, he served as a news anchor for KPNX-TV in Phoenix, AZ.
Two years before this, he was the host of The Doug Meehan Show for WTKK 96.9 FM as well as a contributor on The Wall Street Journal Radio Network in New York. He also served as a highly acclaimed reporter and anchor for WFXT where he was the market’s first full-time helicopter reporter covering traffic and breaking news.
Meehan also served WHDH-TV as a reporter and relief anchor, WFAA-TV as an anchor and host of “Good Morning Texas”, KTVT-TV as an anchor, and WTSPP-TV as an anchor and reporter. Before leaving New England, he was a news, weather, and sports anchor at WPRI-TV in Providence. When free, he loves working out and exploring the area.
