Jenese Harris Biography
Jenese Harris is an Emmy Award Winning Anchor and Meteorologist working as an Evening Anchor and Meteorologist at News4JAX in Jacksonville, Florida. She joined the station in June 2016 after serving as an Evening News Anchor and Reporter at WCCU Channel 27 in the Urban-Champaign, Illinois Area. Harris anchors News4JAX newscasts on Sunday at 6 pm,10 pm, and 11 pm and reports on Monday through Thursday from 5 pm to 630pm.
Education | Career
Harris attended and graduated from the University of South Florida in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sciences and Communications. She then joined Mississippi State University where she attained a Bachelor of Science in Geology and General Science.
Harris began her career in October 2007 working as a Television Anchor, Reporter, and Producer for WABG-TV in Greenville, Mississippi. She served the station for 2 years and months and left the station in 2010. Her next stop was Chicago where she joined CBS 2 Chicago as a Field Producer and Assignment Editor. After a year and 5 months, she left the station in January 2013.
Harries then proceeded to ABC NewsChannel 15 where she served as a Morning News Anchor, Reporter, and Producer for 2 years and 4 months. She left the station in April 2015. Before joining her current station she worked as an Evening News Anchor and Reortter for WCCU Illinois Area.

Harris has been part of the News4JAX family since June 2016. She serves as the station’s Evening Anchor and Meteorologist. On August 21, 2022, she became the first African American Woman meteorologist and the first to ever present a weather forecast in Northeast Florida.
Over the years of her professional career, she has cultivated a skill for covering high-profile court cases. Jenese has covered cases like the Ahmaud Arbery murder investigation and the McMichaels and Bryan murder trial for Arbery’s death. Additionally, Jenese covered the murder of Cherish Periwinkle. When off her duties she enjoys movies, food, and genealogy.
