Fazio attended and graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 2000. While in college he did an on-air radio work and played wide receiver on the Division I-AA football team. Later on, he joined Indiana State University where he did his Master’s Degree in Communications graduating in 2006.
Fazio currently works as a weekday morning anchor at 11 am and an evening reporter at NBC 5 Chicago. He joined the station in July 2017 and has been working here ever since. Before moving to on-air, Fazio served as a volunteer firefighter and umpired high school baseball.
Over the years of his professional career, he has won seven Emmy Awards, ten Edward R. Murrow Awards, Best Investigative Reporting from the Missouri Broadcasters Association, and the First Amendment Award from Indiana’s Society of Professional Journalists.
Fazio has had the opportunity to interview people like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mike Pence, US senators, members of Congress, governors, and military generals. When off his duties, he loves exploring the world and having a good time outdoors.
