Education | Career
Ted Reinstein attended and graduated from the University of Brandeis University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree in Theatre Arts and Political Science. He currently works as a reporter for WCVB’s magazine Chronicle since February 1988. He has also been a regular contributor for WCVB’s political roundtable show, “On The Record”, and has been a member of the station’s editorial board since 2010.
In 2002, Ted was part of a “Chronicle” team that received a national DuPont-Columbia Broadcast Journalism Award for coverage of Boston’s controversial Big Dig. Additionally, he received an Emmy Award for his story on the “Good Night Lights” phenomenon in Providence, Rhode Island. Ted also served as a host for Specials for the Discovery Channel and HGTV.
Besides journalism, Ted is also a certified Author and has by far published four books. National Geographic Traveler selected his first book, A New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories as a Best Pick. He is also the author of Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds and New England’s General Stores: Exploring an American Classic. His most recent book is Before Brooklyn: The Unsung Heroes Who Helped Break Baseball’s Color Barrier, released in 2021.
