Education | Career
Harding attended and graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Journalism. He currently works as an evening News Anchor for WCVB in Boston. ED anchors the station’s evening newscasts at 4, 6, 7, and 11 pm. Over the years, he has received numerous awards including three Boston/New England Emmy awards.
Harding joined WCVB in 1988 as a weekend sports anchor and reporter and took over the co-anchor role of EyeOpener in 2000. He then became a co-anchor of the 11 pm newscasts in 2004. Ed also helped launch WCVB’s 4 pm and 7 pm newscasts in January 2016.
Before joining his current station, ED served as a sports director and principal anchor for WISH-TV, the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis. During his tenure there, he anchored and produced the 6 and 11 pm sportscasts. He also co-produced and reported the station’s annual ‘Indy 500’ special, and was the producer and host of The Colts Today.
Before leaving WISH-TV he won two Indiana Associated Press awards and was even named Best TV Sportscaster by Indianapolis Magazine. Harding served WDSU-TV before joining WISH-TV in New Orleans from 1978 to 1981 as a sports director. He also served KMSP-TV as a weekend anchor and assistant sports director and WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh as a sports director and anchor.
